Why Customise Promo Beanies?

Custom Beanie Promo

A promotional beanie rates as one of the most popular items, but only if it meets a few select criteria. They include:

  • They are high-quality in materials and manufacturing
  • They come in trendy colours and styles
  • They are branded with a custom logo or slogan

Why would they have to fit such criteria? Again, there are a few reasons. The first relates to the lifespan of most promo goods – which is usually around seven months or less. The second reason is simple – you want people to wear them around others who might have an interest in your service.

If you fail to choose a style that fits your target audiences’ tastes, they are not going to wear it, and even if they do, the people you hope will give it attention will be less likely to do so. As an example, you might opt for a low-priced and boldly coloured fleece beanie that has a small label depicting your logo affixed to the edge. However, your target client is likely to be prone to wearing slouch beanies in low-key colours. They may appreciate an embroidered logo instead of a small tag.

That customer may wear the brightly coloured, lesser-quality cap, but they won’t attract the attention you want.

Choosing a Beanie

It is also important to remember that promo goods have to meet seasonal demands, too. Just as you might hand out visors in the summer, it would never suit your marketing purpose to hand out beanies before the first chill of the autumn season arrives. Try to remember that seven-month window and select a schedule that works within that timeframe. Keep in mind that the seven months is just a basic timeframe and you may discover that your promo goods are used for years after being received.

In fact, if chosen well, they most definitely will become a favourite of those receiving them. And by “chosen well,” you have to think about:

  • Materials
  • Colours
  • Style
  • Design of the logo or tagline

Try always to choose colours that are in line with your firm’s existing colour scheme. If the logo has multiple hues, go with the one you associate most with the business or its overarching theme. For instance, the launderer will want blue to signify water and cleaning, while a gardener might hand out green, and the food company might choose almost anything that complements the dominant hues in the logo.

The design of your logo or slogan is also relevant. There are some options for customised beanies in which the logo is woven into the beanie itself, but the most commonly used techniques are to embroider the slogan or logo into the front of the beanie, or to use a patch that is sewn in place, and which depicts the logo in a much smaller, less noticeable manner.

Would your recipients prefer the subtle display of the logo or will they love the opportunity of sporting your slogan or company name in bright and embroidered letters across the beanie? That is a crucial point, too.

Should you opt for even more unique beanies? There are reversible options, striped beanies, pom-pom beanies, shorter beanies, lined beanies, and beanies with dramatic graphics woven into the design, among many other options. Any of them would work well if they are in line with the message or mood you wish to create by using beanies as promo goods.

While it may feel as if we just complicated what initially sounded like a simple solution to easy and effective marketing, you will find it the opposite. Choosing a beanie to give away to existing and prospective clients is an insightful process that can help you make additional marketing decisions with greater ease and effectiveness. Once you figure out your audience preferences, you can apply them broadly to other advertising and promo goods.
