How To Choose a Promo Bottle

How To Choose a Promo Bottle

Reusable water bottles reduce plastic waste and encourage us all to drink more water which is a great health outcome. This is a great cause to align any brand.

Their daily use means great brand exposure, right in the hands of your customers. With so many options of bottles out there, it can be difficult to choose the right bottle for your use, so here are a few tips to help you on the way.

Promo Bottle Material Options

Double-walled stainless steel bottles which are vacuum sealed are the premium of water bottles – keeping drinks cold or hot up to 6-12 hours. Metal is sturdy and generally resistant to smells and stains, unlike plastic.

Single-walled metal bottles don’t have the ability to keep drinks hot or cold anywhere near the same length of time as the double-walled, but they make a great cost-effective upgrade from plastic bottles.

Glass – the best option is borosilicate glass which is more resistant to thermal shock than common glass which makes it sturdier and can withstand temperature differences without fracturing. It’s lightweight, exceptionally strong and shatter-resistant.

Aluminium – lightweight metal option and cheap alternative to the above. Cold drinks can cause external condensation build-up wetting objects around them which happens when single-walled.

Tritan Plastic – BPA-free plastic, with much greater shatter resistance than other plastics and glass. It looks like glass, but lighter in weight and won’t dent or ding like metal.

Plastic – used mostly for promotional bottles for sporting activities such as fun runs, sports clubs etc. Lightweight but have a tendency to cling onto scents/flavours so best used for water.

Promo Bottle Decoration Options

Depending on the material, decoration options include pad print, full colour digital and wrap print, laser engrave and the latest a mirror finish laser engrave leaving a shiny reflective finish.

Laser engraving – a permanent branding process that engraves the artwork into the surface of the product using a laser. Different materials produce different engraving finishes. Laser has a higher perceived value than other forms of branding.

Screen Print – a screenprint application that is ideal for large print areas on cylindrical objects which can also offer rotary print.

Imitation Etch– a special pad printing ink used for producing an etch-like effect on glass products. Much more affordable than real etching and can brand curved or uneven products with a subtle finish.

Pad Printing – One of the most popular and affordable ways of branding due to its ability to reproduce images on uneven or curved products and print multiple colours in a single pass. Prints sharp, clean images with detail as fine as 0.4mm with min text height of 5pt. Close PMS matches are possible.

Direct Digital Print – involves the transfer of UV ink directly from inkjet print heads and can be used to produce detailed artwork using both closely matched spot colours and full-colour branding. Ideal for large or complex full-colour prints.
